Fort Worth's Veteran-Run Moving Company Since 2013

Veterans Moving America was born in Fort Worth. Our founder started the company in 2013 while finishing his degree at TCU, and we have been based here ever since. VMA is veteran-run: every member of our team is a U.S. military veteran except the founder. That means when you book with VMA, you get a team forged by military service: disciplined, accountable, and focused on getting your move done right.

We hold a 4.9 average Google rating and have been BBB Accredited since 2014. VMA was named Best of Fort Worth by Fort Worth Magazine every year from 2019 through 2025, was named a DAV Patriot Employer in 2022, and has been featured on PBS Start Up.

We price by the hour with all-inclusive rates — no surprise fuel surcharges, no shared trucks, no time windows that leave you guessing. Call us at (817) 989-6362 for a free estimate.

Moving in Fort Worth

Fort Worth covers a lot of ground — from walkable historic districts to sprawling new-build communities along the far northern edges of Tarrant County. Our crews have worked every corner of this city, and we offer full-service packing and storage for moves that need it. Below is a quick guide to the areas where we move most.

Moving on the West Side and Cultural District

The west side of Fort Worth is one of our busiest areas. The Cultural District, Arlington Heights, Monticello, and Ridglea are established neighborhoods with a mix of mid-century homes, bungalows, and larger estates — each with its own street character and parking quirks our crews know well.

Moving in the TCU Area and South Central Fort Worth

The TCU area, Westcliff, Tanglewood, Fairmount, Ryan Place, and the Near Southside make up a stretch of Fort Worth that is always in motion. Students, young professionals, and families all move through here regularly, and VMA's founder knows this area firsthand — he started the company while attending TCU in 2013. Further south, Wedgwood and southwest Fort Worth offer more space and quieter residential streets that our crews navigate with ease.

Moving in North Fort Worth and the Alliance Corridor

Summerfields, Heritage, and the Alliance area represent some of the fastest-growing parts of Tarrant County. New construction communities are going up quickly, and residents are moving in from across the metro. Our crews also regularly serve far northwest Fort Worth near Saginaw and Eagle Mountain — areas where the roads can stretch out and coordination matters. We bring the same professionalism to a Heritage townhome move as to a large home in the Alliance corridor.

Moving In and Out of Downtown Fort Worth

Downtown Fort Worth moves — whether you're in a loft near Sundance Square, a high-rise apartment, or a commercial office suite — require precision timing, elevator coordination, and crews who know how to work in tight spaces. Our veteran movers handle the logistics calmly and efficiently.

Fort Worth Moving FAQ

How far in advance should I book my Fort Worth move?

For most Fort Worth moves we recommend booking at least two to three weeks out, especially for weekend dates in spring and summer. End-of-month dates book fast since many leases turn over then. That said, we do our best to accommodate last-minute requests when our schedule allows — call (817) 989-6362 and we'll tell you exactly what's available.

Does VMA charge travel time?

Your hourly rate starts when our crew arrives at your origin address and ends when everything is unloaded and set up at your new home. Travel is a fixed charge based on the mileage from our Fort Worth office to your origin, plus the mileage from your final destination back to our office. Because it's based on mileage, not drive time, traffic never changes it, and it's included in your estimate.

How long does a typical local Fort Worth move take?

Based on more than 2,600 local moves we've completed since 2023, most take between 3 and 5.5 hours. Smaller apartment moves often take about 3 hours, and larger homes typically take 6 to 9. Stairs, elevators, packing, and the amount of furniture all affect timing, so we'll give you a realistic estimate for your move when you call.

Can VMA move specialty items like pianos or gun safes?

Yes. Our crews are experienced with heavy and specialty items including pianos and gun safes. These items require proper equipment and technique to move safely — both for the item and for the crew. Let us know about any specialty items when you call for your estimate so we can bring the right equipment and assign the right crew size for your move.

Nearby Communities We Serve

VMA's Fort Worth crews also regularly serve these nearby cities and communities. Our 4,600+ total moves in the area include jobs in Benbrook, Haltom City, Saginaw, and Haslet — communities that are part of our everyday service area. Not sure if we cover your location? Call us at (817) 989-6362.
