– FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS –
Q: What will my move cost me?
A: Local moves are charged by the hour, and long-distance moves are charged by hour and distance. Our moving professionals will take you through the process, provide you with a competitive estimate, and our veteran movers will complete your mission quickly, safely and efficiently.
Q: How can I keep the cost down?
A: With local moves (charged by the hour), anything that you do, we don’t have to, and you save money. We are happy to perform everything on the following list, but if you are trying to control costs;
· Be completely packed before we get there.
· Take apart your stereo and computer and pack them in boxes.
· Take apart your bed frame.
· Move boxes near the door.
· Unload and unplug your refrigerator/freezer 24 hours prior to your move date.
· Unhook Your Washer and Dryer
Q: Are you licensed and insured?
A: Yes, Veterans Moving America is fully licensed and insured. Below are our permits and license numbers:

Call a veteran @ 817-989-6362 or email us at info@VeteransMovingAmerica.com.
Q: What about tipping?
A: It is customary to tip movers, but it is completely up to you. If you feel the movers worked hard and took care of you, then a tip is much appreciated. A typical tipping rate is 15-20% of the total cost of your move. A VMA team member will never ask you for or about tips.
Q: Is there anything that VMA does not move?
A: We move most things, but there are certain things that we cannot move for you safely.
These items include:
· Ammunition or Loaded weapons
· Gas containers
· Propane tanks
· Yard equipment containing fuel or oil
· Paint, paint thinner, etc.
· Automotive batteries
· Flammable liquids
· Personal vehicles/watercraft
· Gun safes weighing more than 750 lbs.
Q: How big are VMA’s trucks?
A: All of our trucks used for Full-Service missions are 26-foot straight trucks called “bobtails.” Our “Helping Hands” service does not include a truck for client use. We will always bring enough truck to get your move done right. Please make sure that there is a place for us to park the moving truck as close to your front door as possible.
Q: Can we make multiple stops?
A: Yes, if you’d like us to stop at a storage unit or drop off a couch at your friend’s, we’re happy to oblige. However, keep in mind that extra stops will add additional time to your move.
Q: Can I leave items in dresser drawers?
A: We ask that you please empty all items from dresser drawers. This is not only for the safety of our crew, but also for the safety of your belongings!
Q: Do you sell boxes?
A: Yes! If you are interested in purchasing boxes from VMA or our professional packing service let us know and we will provide you with a estimate.
Q: What forms of payment are accepted?
A: VMA accepts cash, checks, money orders, cashier’s checks or any major credit/debit card. However, when paying with a credit/debit card, the hourly rate increases by $5/hour.
Q: Can the movers call me prior to arrival?
A: Yes. The office or the crew will call when they leave our office in Fort Worth to give you an updated ETA
Q: Are there hidden costs?
A: No. All costs and estimated quotes will be given to you prior to the mission date.
Q: Do you offer discounts?
A: Yes! Returning clients and veterans get a 5% discount off the total of their move as long as no other discounts or deals/coupons have been applied. Sometimes deals, coupons, or discounts can be found on sites like Yelp! and Angie’s List.
